What is Appraisir?
The first ever real estate game. You are shown a house listing and have to use the home details to figure out the price. Use the Hint button if the price is too difficult to guess.
How do I play?
  1. Look at the photos, the specs and where it is.
  2. Stuck? Buy a hint — it'll cost you points.
  3. Type what you reckon it sold for and hit Submit.
  4. See the real price and what you scored out of 500.

The closer you are, the more points you get. Random homes you can play all day. The daily home is one go, and it's the same house for everyone.

How is the score calculated?

The formula is 500 × (1 − 2x²), where x = |guess − price| ÷ price — how far off you were as a fraction of the true price.

A perfect guess scores 500. The curve falls away steeply and hits zero at about 70.7% off, so a guess more than about two-thirds wrong is worth nothing. Guessing high and guessing low by the same fraction score the same.

Hints come out of your score: the tax assessment costs 50 points and the area average costs 100. A score never goes below zero.

What is the daily home?
One home a day, the same for everyone, resetting at midnight UTC. You get one attempt, and you can share your result as a row of coloured squares without spoiling the answer.
Where do the listings come from?
They're real US listings collected from public property data, with the photos served from the original listing service. Prices are historical — they reflect what the home was listed at when the data was collected, not today's market.
Is Appraisir free?
Yes. It's supported by a small number of unobtrusive ads.
Who makes it?

One person, in their spare time. It started as a lockdown project in 2020 and got a rebuild in 2026.
